Hello,
Due to an error in our database we lost all posts which have been written today. So I now repeat what PKrash wrote:
Hello!
Ive been using 3dwatch for about 3 weeks now and have found a problem which perplexes me. At no regular interval, I get a message no host,
yet the registar points to the correct DNS servers, the DNS servers have the correct A record, and big brother monitoring (at an outside agency) shows green (for up) .
What coudl cause this no host error?
I would love to use 3dwatch in production, but need to track down this glitch and stomp it madly.
Best,
PKrash
I replied to this:
Hi,
I assume you are using DynDNS.org. This error is returned from the dyndns service. They say:
nohost The hostname specified does not exist (or is not in the service specified in the system parameter).
If this error occurs often, I would contact the dyndns service people and ask them whats going on. Or use another dyndns provider.
All return codes from DynDNS.org are listed here.
Again: This error does NOT have its origin inside 3DWatch, it always comes from the dyndns provider.
Have a nice Day!
Thomas
We apologize for this problem.
